Description
Linalool
Linalool is the soft floral terpene most people recognise as lavender. It also occurs in coriander and a long list of other flowers and spices.
What it does in a blend
It rounds things off. Linalool is delicate rather than sharp, so it is used when a floral note is wanted without that note taking over. A small amount usually does the job.
Lavender oil is where most of it comes from, and lavender has been used in aromatherapy for a very long time. That is a point about scent rather than medicine, but it explains why the aroma feels so familiar.
Working with it
- Pairs well with citrus and woody terpenes
- Suits oils, e-liquids and fragrance work
- Sold on its own, so you can use it alone or as part of a wider profile
