Description
Pinene
Pinene is the smell of a pine wood. It occurs in pine and other conifers, in pine needles and in orange peel.
The forest note
It is one of the easiest aromas to recognise, and it forms part of the make up of many hemp varieties. You notice it before anything else, a resinous edge above the rest of the profile.
Like other terpenes, pinene is an oil the plant secretes in its trichomes. It is one of the things that gives a variety its particular smell.
Working with it
- Adds a clean lift to a blend
- Sits well with citrus terpenes and with earthy notes such as myrcene
- Suits oils, e-liquids and fragrance work
This is pinene on its own, so you can use it by itself or combine it with others.
